About Me

I'm Mackenzie, a 20-something realistic idealist trying to make a difference in the world. Although I was born and rasied in Indiana, I have spent the last several years packing and unpacking my bags in various cities around the world. I graduated with a BA in Economics and International Relations before serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala. Currently, I am pursing my Master of Public Policy degree at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Part of my degree requires a summer internship, so I am living and interning with UN Women in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

My first blogging experience was while I was in the Peace Corps. Although that experience was an epic fail, I decided to give it another shot because my mom is always asking what “exactly” I am doing so she can explain it to her friends. This is an effort to keep myself from going hoarse explaining and re-explaining to her and everyone else what it is I am doing, where I am and to give me a chance to share any other random thoughts I have along the way.

This blog isn't meant to be anything fancy. Like I said before, this is more of a consolidation of communication on my part, than a blog that aims to impart wisdom. There will definitely be typos and grammatical errors, so please don’t judge too harshly.

With that said, enjoy One Girl. One Globe.
